Somewhat to her surprise, she was greeted with numerous offers of help in her rescue effort. Friends such as Nancy Lisi and Ursula Ayd and a host of others provided the initial support.

Fortna then reached out to Larry Rosenblum of the Equine Tax Group who agreed to provide the final piece of the funds needed to rescue “Chance.”

Rosenblum stated, “Chance’s story is proof that social networking can be used in a constructive, philanthropic manner. This is the third horse I have helped to rescue via Facebook and I hope to be able to assist in many future rescues.”

Chance was suffering from a variety of maladies when he arrived, but Fortna nursed him back to health and he is happily enjoying his new home near Seaford, Del.

Fortna keeps her friends posted on Chance’s progress via her Facebook page.
